Chief Secretary for Administration

Aged 64. Mr Lee has been Chief Secretary for Administration since June 2021.

Mr Lee joined the Hong Kong Police Force in 1977 as a Probationary Inspector. He was promoted to Chief Superintendent in July 1997, Assistant Commissioner in May 2003, Senior Assistant Commissioner in January 2007 and Deputy Commissioner in September 2010. He has held a variety of posts including Assistant Commissioner (Crime) and Director of Crime and Security, and Deputy Commissioner (Management).

Mr Lee was appointed as Under Secretary for Security in September 2012. He was Secretary for Security from July 2017 to June 2021. While serving in the Security Bureau, he was responsible for the formulation of security policies, including law and order, immigration and customs control, fire and emergency rescue services, correctional services, government flying services etc. He was also in charge of the coordination of work of six disciplined services departments and two auxiliary forces under the Bureau.
